What's the time? - A Home School Task
I made this story during home school
As they walked through the deep dark woods, Alesha was a bit worried. “Uh, are you sure we’re going the right way?” A brown haired girl looked down at the blonde. “Yes, of course! Why wouldn’t I?” She wasn’t totally sure. they had gotten lost ages ago. “M-maybe we should turn back, I don’t like this. Mum even said we had to be home by dinner!” Alesha pointed out. “Oh no! What time is it?”
“I don’t know!”
“Don’t you have a watch?”
“I left it at home!”
“Well, we’re dead!”
“3 o’ clock.” Alesha and Sally went silent. “D-did y-you say t-that?” Alesha stammered. “No….” Sally answered. Little did they know, they were being fooled. “Whoever said that, do you know how we could get home?” Sally asked cautiosly. “Yes..” The voice echoed. “But for a price. One of you, must stay with me for tea, and the other shall return home. I will escort the second home.” Alesha looked very pleased. “Well I’m sorry, but our mother has said that we had to be home by then.” Sally was very good at making excuses. “Pity, but I’m sure you would like to stay when you find out that I am a wolf.” Sally and Alesha were horrified. “Umm, you’re sure you won’t.. Eat us?” Alesha said. “Of course not darling.”
The wolf stepped out from behind a tree. He was ragged and looked hungry as a lion. “Run.” Sally whispered. “But-” “RUN!” Alesha dashed away. “Why don't we play a little game, girl?” The wolf said calmly, as if his meal hadn’t just ran away. “What ‘game’?” Sally was confused why a wolf would like to play a game. “Have you heard of, ‘what’s the time Mr. Wolf?’” Sally nodded. “Good, good. That is what we shall play. If you catch me, you can go home. If I catch you three times, you won’t be seeing that pretty little sister of yours again.” Sally agreed. Better to try than to not. Mr. Wolf lined up at a tree and waited. Sally realized she should ask the time.
“What ‘s the time Mr.Wolf?”
“4 o’ clock.” Sally took four steps forward, not to big, not to small. “The wolf started to get worried that he would not be eating today. This continued until…. “What’s the time Mr.Wolf?” “DINNER TIME” Sally darted to the side and clapped the wolf on the back. “CAUGHT YOU!” She yelled. Mr. Wolf howled into the night sky as Sally ran far away.
