Like most animals, the alien has a predator, the Fegnusrom. The Fegnusrom is a menacing creature with yellowed teeth and a signature scar across it's rump. It is a whopping 30 feet tall and 25 feet wide. It's 12 sharp claws are used to rip apart aliens. You may be asking, Well, if the skin of an alien is toxic, how can the Fegnusrom rip it apart? Well, it is immune to the acid, which is why it is the only predator.

How I Imagine Aliens
I imagine aliens as dangerous creatures. They have acid on their rough flesh that can burn you severely. In the early stages of aliens they always seemed to trip over their 6 legs, causing the newer versions large left eye to appear red, not black like the other 6. It's bright skin signals that it is poisonous and you should not consume it.

The SPCA and What it Does (SLJ)
The SPCA is a animal charity that focuses on rescuing neglected, abandoned, and abused animals. It is the only charity that has legal power to help animals in need with horrible owners and bring animal offenders to seek justice. They take in dogs and keep them under their wing until they can find a home with a loving owner. As soon as an animal comes in, they give them necessary treatments and checks.
The SPCA first calls the ambulance team if an animal has been abandoned, neglected or abused. They have a national rescue unit based in Wellington. Up to twelve people are able to go around New Zealand and rescue dogs in the following situations:
Floods/Fast water
Small spaces
Heights
Earthquakes
Fire
The SPCA has helped many animals find forever homes and reunite them with there original owners. As soon as the animals arrive they receive food, water, bed and shelter. They work hard to ensure that all of their animals get the best home they can possibly find. There is no time limit for an animal to get adopted that comes into the arms of the SPCA.
All animals are given a health check as soon as they reach The SPCA. It is usually just a checkup, seeing how the animal is doing, but in some cases, they have to get special treatment or even life saving surgery.
The SPCA is an amazing group of people. Since there are so many creatures everywhere getting abused and neglected, all those feed bags, water bills, beds and toys are going to cost. That is why The SPCA needs all the money it can get. If you donate, a dog will be granted a bed.

The Water Project (SLJ)
The Water Project is a charity filled with many amazing people. Their goal is to produce clean water for the 1,000,000,000 at least who can't access it. The Water Project is affecting millions of communities over Africa with cleansed water from taps, wells, and hygienic toilets.
Girls around Africa are twice as likely to be sent out to collect water and drop out of school when they reach puberty as they give up on travelling miles just for water. This obviously damages their education. Kids are said to be shivering, having headaches and sore stomachs. The Water Project is replacing the water they drink (infested with bacteria and other dangerous cells) with clean water.
School food costs are expensive because less water = less crops. The children go hungry and clean water can stop that. The Water Project is trying to support them with more water to grow food which will help them focus in class.
Lots of little worms and bacteria live in natural, muddy ponds. Because the bacteria can't be seen by the human eye, people drink the water. Most bacteria is harmless, but some can cause major diseases and illnesses in humans. The Water Project goes to countries with water like this and builds taps that produce filtered water with no bacteria.
The main cause of poverty in Africa is also the cause that is the most missed, the lack of clean water. When people drink infected water, they become sick. When you become sick, you cannot work, as you are too exhausted. The Water Project is making sure people can work by providing safe water.
So... yeah! The main point is, The Water Project is providing bacteria free water for peoples benefits. Kids can go to school without losing focus or dropping out because they are tired of lugging water 5 miles there and 5 miles back. People will go out of poverty as they are no longer sick. If you donate to The Water Project, you might just make the most depressed person in the world, the happiest.

Would it be good to be Garry Kasparov? (SLJ)
Garry Kasparov is the worlds best chess player. He is most likely very smart, but would it be good to be the greatest of all time? Here are 2 pros and 2 cons of being Garry.
The Pros:
-You're famous! Being famous is great! Everyone wants to be famous! Right?
-You must be smart. If you're at least good at chess- a game of skill and planning ahead - then you're already quite smart. Imagine being the best!
The Cons:
-If you don't play enough, the neural pathways will break and you will lose all your progress, like when you forget to save a video game you've been playing for a while.
-Connecting to the con above, you'll have no time for your close friends and family, you'll have to spend time isolated
So, would you like to be him?

Weekend Jumping
On the long weekend, Monday, I went to my mums friend Marcella's house. She has 3 daughters. Abby, Danny, and Shawn. Shawn is my younger sister Emma's best friend. Me, my mum and my sister Emma were going to go to Beachbrook stables to ride but the owner was having problems so we got stuck. My pony Scooby and Emma's pony Coco were stomping about in the float behind us so we called Marcella. she said we could come over for a lesson.
When we got there we brushed our ponies. Coco made a mess because she had her winter coat on. After that me, Shawn (because she was riding her pony Lulu) and Emma tacked up our ponies. Scooby went into the arena first for a quick lunge before we got on. When he was done my mum put Coco on the lunge.
I got on Scooby without a leg up and Marcella let me warm up at a walk. Then when I was warmed up I went into a trot.We continued that same trot for a while until she pulled me into he middle. She taught me about spaghetti reins which are when you let your reins go loose and loopy. She said it's like a phone, when your let your reins go loose you lose contact and can't communicate with your horse. When you have a good contact, you can talk with your horse. She set marks for me to trot over in a circle and she taught me to half-halt.
She said I could pop over small blue jump but I thought she meant the big one so I jumped over that one. Marcella said that one was harder and she set up a jumping course for me. The first jump was the big blue jump I did before and I made it clear. The second jump was the small blue one, I made that as well. The third was a red and black jump. I made the rest of the jumps clear and then got off Scooby.
Jumping is fantastic and I want to do it again.

Riding Lesson
On Thursday October 24th I had a riding lesson. It was at Beach brook Stables which holds camps and birthdays as well. They have over 18 horses and they can all be ridden. I ride my own pony though, Scooby. The lesson was with Jess and Jorgia.
We started out with simple trots and exercises then our instructor Gill took me in for a lunge. She made me canter and it was really fast so I got to hold onto the saddle. Then we did trotting poles. We soon moved up to jumping our ponies. Jorgia was on Moose and he could just trot over the poles. Same with Jess's horse Eeyore. Scooby had to jump over though because he was 2.1 hands smaller than Eeyore and Moose. He would land on the other side in a canter.
When we were finished we did some tricks like around the world, where you spin on your horses back, and standing up on your horse. When it was Jess's turn to stand up her horse collapsed, bucked and cantered away. She fell and I jumped off Scooby and ran to help her. She was alright. After that she got back up on her horse and finished the lesson.

Cricket Rounders
Today we played cricket rounders. I was on team Mathematics and the other team was Reading. Mathematics was doing fielding and bowling first. I had to stand next to the bowler, Manase, so I could catch any close bats. At one point I got hit in the leg really hard. I kept on playing though. At the end it was only Ronan W with the bat. Manase had swapped bowling with Ronan C who hadn't warmed up and it was late in the game.
We eventually swapped teams and Mathematics was batting and Reading was fielding. I got out early-ish and got to go on the swing while other people played. Reading won the game 55-34.

Writing is Sensational
Writing is a fun activity where you can use your creativity. It can be used to argue, write stories,
inform and explain. Writing is a subject at schools worldwide.
When you write your imagination can open up and you can put down all of your ideas on one sheet. It may take while to plan, but you can create brilliant stories. You can share your ideas with people around you and your family. You can also use knowledge for information reports and arguments for different subjects.Your hands help you let your mind flow on to the paper/device in front of you while generating new ones in your head.
Lots of writing (mainly stories) can be enjoyable to write as you can create intense moments, happy moments, sad moments and angry moments. A writer can take their audience on a boat full of stormy seas and sunshine. Writing can even be turned into a thrilling movie!
With writing you can really get into the depth of your characters. You might feel their emotions, their parents might have died and they came back to life or they could meet a pet that they will be bonded with forever. The characters emotions are important as long as you think it fits the scenario.
Writing can be enjoyable in many ways and emotional at the same time. Your imagination will create daring and fascinating scenarios for you to 'oooh' and 'aaah' over and share with your family.

What I did in the Holidays
In the holidays I did a lot of exciting things. On the Monday of the first week of the holidays I got my ears pierced . We went to the Otaki Pharmacy where Jess got her ears done. Me, my mum and my sister Emma walked in and there was another girl getting her ears done so we had to wait 5 minutes. When she was finished we came in and there was a nice lady waiting. She made 2 dots with a marker on my ears and said I had "good lobes". Another lady came in they both used the gun at the same time. One of them got stuck in my ear and I got nervous. It came out and we could go home.
The next day my mum said her, my big sister Maddie, my little sister Emma and me had to go pick up some hay from Levin and it was about a 20 minute drive to the place. When we pulled up my mum turned around and said, "We didn't come to pick up hay, we came to look at a litter of puppies". I got excited and when we got out a man and woman greeted us and showed us the mum. She was a black and white with ticking (dots where she goes white) Heading Dog that was the slightest bit skinny. We went to see her puppies and there were about 6 of them. We ended up choosing a blue eyed one with a black patch over it's eye.
The second weeks Saturday we went to a park in Foxton , my mum, my little sister Emma, my aunt Helen, my cousins Brooke, Carter, Lachie, Finn and me all went. Me and Brooke made our own little obstacle course that was pretty hard. We went on a tight rope and a got rope burn on my tummy from falling off. I then scraped my leg on a metal boat which hurt a bit. When we finished playing we found a spot in the forest and had a picnic. We played hide and seek and nobody won. Then we played tag and I bumped my head on a tree.

Folk dance 2
The School Fancy Dress
On Wednesday night, 18th of September 2019, at Ngā Purapura our school held a fancy dress.
People dressed up as princesses, animals, cowboys and cowgirls. The teachers were themed as
western and Holes characters. Matua Kahura was dressed as a wolf though. I was dressed as a pink
flamingo. I had a pink tinsel wig, a tutu, homemade beak, feathers and a few other things.
Most classes did a folk dance but some did a South African dance. Our class was second to last to dance
so we had to watch a lot of other dances. My little sister Emma’s dance was first. Her dance was very cute
and simple. Next was Room 2 and 10 and I liked their dance too. 7 and 8 went after them and they did the
Gumboot Dance and it was cool. My friend Joy in Room 6 went up with Room 5 to dance the Virginia Reel.
They did one of the most complicated dances of the night. Next it was us.

My partner was Charlotte who was dressed as a panda. She had face paint with a panda dress. The
class stood up and paraded their costumes across the room and peeled off to our groups. Charlotte and
I were first so we started as soon as the music started. Charlotte was first to go round so I waited. When
she finished I went round and when I finished we both did it. The other partners did it and me and
Charlotte had to do it again. Once we’d finished everyone came together in a group and started
swapping arms with their partner. When the music ended we all did poses that said “Ta da!’.

Mr. Curtis announced, like for every other dance, that we had to grab a parent to dance with us. I chose
my mum. Most of the parents were bad at the dance since they only watched it once. They kept on
going to the wrong people and going out of focus, all sorts of things! It was super fun dancing with my
mum. Me and mum were last so we had to go quick and it didn’t really help that she was clueless. We
finished the dance on time though in cool poses to the audience.

Room 12 and 3 were after us and danced ‘5, 6, 7, 8’. Most of the people in those classes were dressed
as cowboys and cowgirls. At the end, we all had ice-cream and danced the Macarena. A lot of people
had left Ngā Purapura though so there weren't many people dancing. They had all thought that the ice
cream was the end. We were forced to stay because Emma was pulling us back. Everyone that was
there had a great time. Overall the dance was super fun.

Class Dance
We're doing a class dance for a school event with fancy dress and all sorts of costumes on. We have to connect our right arms and spin once with a buddy, and the person on the right side of 2 lines will go to the person on the left, next to your buddy. Spin with them and go back to your buddy. Do this until you reach the end of the line. When you reach the end your buddy will do the same thing but on the right side of the line where you were. You follow them along the line and start to do it again but both of you do it this time. When you're done go to the end of the line and people will come to you for a spin and with them always use your left arm, but with with your partner use your right.
I'm pretty bad at the bits where you have to use your left arm when I use my right arm/hand for EVERYTHING (sorry left hand, you're just not good enough) but sometimes I can do it. I'm also bad at timing and dancing. We have to dance while we wait for the music to come on and I don't know what to do there so I just shake my arms. I'm also horrible with timing and instructions, I can't deal with more than 1 instruction. But I wanna know if you can do this dance.
Grab at least six friends and get dancing!

holes Review
Holes is a story written by Louis Sachar, about a boy name Stanley because his last name Yelnats is Stanley backwards. I think holes is a brilliant story. It has a great way of time going by and brings a lot of feelings like anger, concern, sadness and confusion. holes doesn't have a capital letter so I won't be using one. We are reading holes in our class and we are all doing activities about holes. I think it is a great book and recommend it to people who like cliffhangers and intense stories.

Fish In A Tree Poem
Fish in a tree poem
Fish in a tree, Fish in a tree,
Please share with me,
A tale of Ally who can’t read,
And Shay, with undesirable greed.
Mr Daniels with his kind heart,
And Albert, who is very smart.
Keisha has baking skills,
While Ally’s dad does military drills.
Jessica, oh she loves her friend.
Why, the characters just never end.
When she thought her brain was just a mess,
She turned out to be good at chess.
As her tests were now fun and games,
Ally’s life was no longer rain.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is my Fish In A Tree story poem. I came up with the words for the characters as I was sleeping, and am now entered in a poetry competition because of it! Probably not with this poem, though. Meanwhile, this is my poem we're talking about, not some sheet of paper with rhymes on it! Since the poem is based on Fish In A Tree, I'll probably need to explain it. Ally is a girl with undetected dyslexia and Shay is her bully, who wants nothing more than being Miss Queenie and having money. Mr. Daniels is her teacher who teaches her to play chess and helps her read and write. Albert is Ally's Scientific friend who inherits (even though they're not related, or are they) the brains of Albert (haha) Einstien! Keisha is Ally's other friend who yearns to be a baker and try's to support Albert through countless times struggling at bully's feet. Ally's dad is deployed to work with the Navy and comes back only a few times a year. Jessica is Shay's "friend" (honestly just a slave for Shay) and has at the least 7 friendship bracelets! (All from Shay). Ally thought she was dumb, a waste of time and space itself when she was just as smart as Albert in reality. As Mr. Daniels trained her up, Ally got better and better and better at chess. Her tests were getting turned into puzzles for her dyslexia and Ally now had the tiniest spark of hope. Hope you enjoyed this new blog post and wish for more.
Peace!
